In Schenectady, the busiest days for florists are Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and the weeks before prom and Christmas, when prices rise and delivery windows fill up, so order several days ahead. Across New York, delivery fees depend on distance, and hospitals and funeral homes have their own drop-off hours. For a wedding, book a consultation six to twelve months out and bring photos and a budget; for sympathy flowers, the shop can deliver straight to the funeral home if you give the service time. Schenectady is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Schenectady peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This forest the flower shop is in truly has a bunch of bees. I got stung by a few as I spent too long touching the flowers. Fortunately the owner gave me a soda and a bandaid to heal my arm.

This is your PSA on why you should shop local and support small businesses. The kindness and ease of communication is exactly what I needed for a tough few days ahead. Mother’s Day is not an easy day for me. I spend it by going to the cemetery and talking to my mom as if she were still here with me. I always bring flowers from a very popular chain store. This store is always packed and it makes a somber day even more stressful. I stopped by Gade Farms last week and picked up tulips grown by Bee Wild Blooms. A week later they are still beautiful and thriving. I was so impressed that I reached out to her directly and asked if she had any yellow flowers, my mom’s favorite color. She let me know she would include 2 yellow bouquets for me to pick up at Gade Farm. This is exactly why you shop small and support small business ❤️ Thank you Bee Wild Blooms, you made Mother’s Day weekend a bit easier on my heart ❤️
